Keeping Girls In School

Nyamira records 16% teenage pregnancy and Migori records 23%. Every pregnant girl is a future lost. Most of these young mothers will not return to school after delivery. Most will remain poor and their children will face the same cycle.

What We Do

We provide dignity kits so girls do not miss school during menstruation. Dignity kits help address period poverty that predisposes young girls to the triple threat of teen pregnancy, HIV-AIDS, and sexual violence. We deliver comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education. We also build life skills among girls including assertiveness, goal-setting, decision-making that helps them become resilient and overcome sexual and reproductive challenges. We establish mentorship programs within schools and health facilities through the youth friendly SRHR programme. We support school re-entry for girls who become pregnant so they can return and complete their education.
