About
ACHILD Kenya is a duly registered Non-Governmental Organization operating in Kenya. The word ACHILD is an acronym that stands for: Alliance For Child, Health, Inclusive Learning and Development. It underscores, our passion to help the most vulnerable in the society who are mostly children and the youth. To achieve this we empower the community through capacity building, partnerships, advocacy, service and product delivery. Our main aim, is to create sustainable society that can ensure holistic development of children and the youth.
Since 2019, ACHILD Kenya has been engaging and partnering with stakeholders in the health, education, and environmental sectors to promote access to education, healthcare, water and sanitation. We use community led initiatives to find solutions that will address the most pressing needs in vulnerable children and youth. We believe that youth and children must be at the forefront of finding solution to their problems.
Our History
ACHILD Kenya came into being in 2015 following a realization of existing gaps in addressing the pressing needs of children and the youth. It led to the roll-out of youth friendly programs that enable them access quality health care, mitigate HIV infections and access sexual and reproductive health services. As we undertook these initiatives, there was a realization that it needed a multi-sectoral approach to address the needs of the children and the youth. This led to the formal registration of ACHILD Kenya as a Non-governmental Organization in 2019.
ACHILD Kenya is formally registered as an NGO in Kenya with the NGOs board of Kenya. Its led by a board of directors who provide the strategic oversight and leadership to the secretariat. The secretariat runs the day to day operations of the organization.

Mission
To enhance the lives of children and the youth through increased access to quality education, healthcare, nutrition, water and sanitation services.
Specific Objectives
To further this mission, the organization shall be guided by the following specific objectives
- To enhance access to quality education through elimination of gender disparity, provision of learning materials, and training of teachers
- To establish guidance and counseling services for all children and youth
- To increase access to quality healthcare
- To promote sanitation through provision of clean water, adequate toileting facilities, and adequate waste management
- To enhance girls’ menstrual hygiene
- To increase Access to safe and nutritious food
- To promote environmental conservation
